I figured this would be one of the only places that would understand; got hitched with my beautiful bride and our favorite Vanagon westy!
I even dropped in a Subaru motor to celebrate the occasion...

Ahhh, Berkeley, that explains everything.
Just kidding, I sure enjoyed living there in the 90s.

Been there. Done that. We eloped in 1994. Went from New England to St Pete, FL in our 82 Westy. It was a small wedding. Us, the dog, and a Justice of the Peace. Had our honey moon at a place called Sunkin Gardens. Still have the van. Married 25 years so far. Congratulations on your marriage. We found unity of spirit and a shared joy of adventure. Hope you do too. |

Awesome! It helps to have a wife who's a good sport when it comes to these things. My wife tolerates mine; I think she sees it not so much as a money pit, but a hobby that keeps me out of her hair.
Congrats and happy travels in your sweet old Westy! _________________ Farfignewton! |

Congrats, Surfin"!
I'll tell you what an old cowboy once told me after seein' my wife and I have a small disagreement.
"She's really got a handle on you, don't she, son?"
"Yessir, she truly does."
"Well, way I see it, You can be Right or You can be Happy".
My life changed for the better at that moment.
Best of Luck to you and the Missus.

What a great thread. Congratulations. I proposed to my wife in our Syncro westy while on an awesome back country road trip in Oregon. Now we take our two year old twins camping with us camping in the van. It really makes camping with kids way better and more comfortable. |

Hold on to your hat. Westys and marriage are equally as difficult and both take skill and persistence to keep moving down the road.
Ive been with my wife almost as long as westys. 23 years. _________________ Support Small Business.

Congratulations! I have the same Westy, any potential ladies out there? Kidding, i love that your Westy is regarded that important to be in your weeding photos!I miss that opportunity, bought mine in 1980, got married in 79. but did raise my three kids in that van, a lifetime of memories. Now its time for you to make yours! _________________ Enjoy the ride....

Congratulations to both of you. And the Westy...
When my Wife and I got married, I wanted to drive away from the Church in my '68 Westy, she said no, it's going to be the '69 Bug [hers]. So, no Westy pictures in our Wedding.....
