Hagerty for me too.
'66 Beetle. $15,000 Guaranteed Value (I should increase it). 300k liability. Zero deductible collision and comp.

UPDATE:
I just got a pleasant surprise. Typically, collector insurance is for cars at least 25 years old, but on a whim, I checked Hagerty for our 2008 VW EOS. Lo and behold, they consider it to be collectible because of Turbo and low mileage/ limited sunny-day use. They added the EOS to my '66 Beetle policy. (while I was at it, we increased the Beetle to $20,000 agreed value), $8,000 value on the EOS. Zero deductible collision and comp on both cars. Total premium= $396/year.
Jake from State Farm wants twice that for the EOS alone. |

You should. Collector car insurance agreed values consider not only the value of the vehicle itself, but also the cost of finding an suitable comparable replacement, plus the cost of transportation. _________________ -Kent (BaT "daleallen")

FWIW, my State Farm policy covers my classic cars/bikes for the declared value with better medical, uninsured motorist and property damage coverage than Hagerty, for the same amount of money. YMMV. |
"Declared" value sounds a lot like "Stated Value." That means the carrier pays whatever their reference values state - usually FAR below market value. Large carriers very well may insure your car, but not the same way a specialty carrier like Hagerty, Grundy, or American Collectors does. You may be VERY disappointed in case of a total loss. Read your policy carefully.
By contrast, Agreed Value means that the value that the customer wants to insure the car for will be the amount of the check the carrier writes in a total loss (minus any deductible.) Big difference _________________ -Kent (BaT "daleallen")

Great info but please, please double and triple check the terms and conditions that the different insurers classify classic insurance as in regards to the type of driving, when and what time you can drive the car and where the towing allows the car to be towed to.
There is a huge price and policy difference between what my State Farm insurance considers as a daily driver, occasional driver, weekend driver and classic insurance.
Make sure when price shopping that you are comparing apples to apples types of coverage as well as insurance categories. |

I totally agree.
In my case, the newer convertible is understood to be used only for occasional pleasure driving (in the range of 3,000 miles/year) and it will be kept in a locked storage unit. |

"Ryan" from Hagerty was wearing a blue plaid sport shirt in the photo they sent me with a customer satisfaction survey. |
