Hi everyone. Brand new here, so hoping this is ok to post.
I've found a VW Westfalia Vanagon camper that I'd like to purchase. Found originally on the Trovit app, but when inquired, I received an e-mail from an address ending in @topcarsz.com
When going to that website, it comes up as eCarsZen Garage. Doing numerous google searches, I did find several threads in various forums with rave reviews. They say they're a consignment company, so payment is made up front into an escrow account, they deliver the car and I have 10 days to get inspection done, etc. and if I decide not to buy, they pick it up at no cost to me. Sounds great, right? But, my Spidey senses are flaring and I just want to make sure they're legit.
Has anyone else in here used them? Appreciate any feedback. |

Welcome again!
There are a bunch of decent T3 Westies in the Classifieds here at 15-20k pricing. Ignite the 50,000 dreamers. 20-25k should get you a rolling Westfie with no problems, quickly. You can spend less by being patient. _________________ .ssS! |

Listen...you have only been a Member for a day so Welcome to the sight.
Do some reading and searching here on the site for info about buying a Vanagon because there is great info for you in that regard.
Now having said that this has opened a can of worms and the opinions are going to crawl out!
Be patient and stay your course to buying one that you can see in person before you buy.
In a few hours on this site and you will have increased your awareness of what to look for in a Vanagon.
A good place to start:

Escrow in itself is not a bad thing... provided the service is being performed by reputable (legal) companies. In this particular case, it's being used to commit fraud by a domain recently registered in Russia.

No they are not. They do have good legitimate uses, but when I see them all the warning flags are at full mast! _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.
