|
|
I have a pair of deep 6's part# 901.361.012.06 and it does NOT have hearts. My question is if that's cottect?
Or is the deep 6 with part# 901.361.012.00 ONLY supposed to have hearts? I did a search but there wasn't enough specific information.

| I have two pairs just like that. They are suppose to have the hearts but i think back in the days people grinded the hearts down, doesn't mean they are not real but they cant hold the same value as ones with the hearts.......... |

Thanks alot Rich I had a feeling it would of been one of you GFK guys to answer that.
I have one more question on that rim...
I put it on my 57 oval today and the inside tire wall was rubbing the shock tower (were the body bolts to the shock tower) is it because I have a short axle trans and you guys have a long axle trans? |

| There are indeed deep 6's w/o hearts. Not all of them were ground down. I have pics of a 912 on my phone that had all originals w/o hearts. |

I'm runing short axle on the split but i had to put 1 inch spacers so it wouldn't rub on the shock bolt. I have deep 6's with 205/70 in the rear and they dont rub at all. |

I've seen plenty of them. The very last deep 6s were like that. Check the date stamps and post. They will all be close to each other. _________________

The pair on the back of my split have no hearts. I got fucked on that one because I sent my rims out and when John delivered them he brought like 5 sets over, everybody grabbed their sets and I was left with 2 without the hearts. I got there late and got early owned. _________________ GFK

Why is it in the other thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=67203 they list all 901... part numbers from 4.5's - 7r's but not 901...06 they only mention 6" 901...00 and 901...03?
I got some pics of the numbers on back (not the greatest).
on the top it has the 901...06 part number, bottom left it has AS1 08, fox head and on the right it has 26710.
Is the AS 1 08 the date ?

No. That is the alloy designation. The alloy numbers on all Fuchs are an internal code that don't conform to any industry standard.
The closest alloy is 6082.
The date code is stamped in between the lug holes, closer to the centercap hole, eg. 1069 for Oct 1969. _________________

I just got another set of deep's and these have the date stamp of 7 69
(july '69) and yes it does have the hearts. I guess somewere between july '69 and december '70 they changed.
Also I noticed that the outside lip is different. The ones with the hearts have a rounder lip just like the 4.5, the ones with out the hearts have a more square edge (lip) like the late 6". |
