No - but you can fill the bus with water and swim in it like a pool. Just be careful opening the door... _________________

Ha, too funny!
The tubing is 1/2" metal pipe in four sections that form a rectangle 5'wide x 4'deep when assembled. It used to be the framework for a canvas sun shade above a lawn glider chair kind-o-thingy. The four pcs. are too long to fit in my "shower box" when stowed, but fit nicely up against the back of the seat backrest.
I've seen people just clamp shower curtains to the rear gate when it's raised, but this seemed to small, especially if you want to use the space as a changing room. The pics are shown with a very thin, cheap vinyl shower curtain from the dollar store. I'm gonna upgrade to something more substantial to keep every little breeze from blowing it around. Right now, I use a few magnets across the back bumper and a stake into the ground at each rear corner to keep the curtain in place.
And yes, those solar shower bags DO work. I just replaced the short, kinked-up hose it came with between the bag & head with a softer longer hose.

Klauss, that is brilliant. and here i was all full of myself for trying to set up something like that in our cabin, and you've already done it in a bus!
is your shower curtain "rail" made of 1/2" PVC or what?
where we usually camp is so far from people that privacy ain't an issue, but that also looks nice to give you some shelter from the breezes whilst nekkid n wet.
good example of what a great resource this site is...i read this thread for the yuks and end up getting a great idea from one of the co-afflictees..... _________________ '79 Westy |

Baths in the luggage rack? Don't know about that. I've just always thought how much it would rule to have a campfire up there. _________________ Percy: '77 sage Westy, 2.0L FI (GD), 091 trans

I don't know about the bathtub, but I can vouch for the Sunshower... a month straight, and it was great! In full sun, it warms enough water for a full, decent shower and hair-washing (and I have the gentle hippie hair thing going, so it's not like its a crew-cut) in about 4 hours of direct sun. It got cloudy at the end of the trip, so I simply half filled it from an ice-cold rainwater cistern, and boiled a gallon of water in the kettle, and poured it in. It made it as hot as I could stand it! _________________ Cheers,

I've got one of those tent things for shower / toilet that could be used. Used to have a sun shower. Should still... somewhere.
My camper didn't come factory with anything. It's actually going to cause me a problem with re-registration in this state. It was made into a camper, factory fresh, from a panelvan. So it's only rated to carry two people. |

I then take the shower hose nozzle and work it into an opening between the pins and use one of those cheesy faux grass door mats to stand on the soon to be wet grass/dirt.
Works surprisingly well in a pinch... |
Interesting, i like your idea the best. And for the record I did not insist you could bathe in the luggage rack I simply stated that I bet hippies back in the day tried it. _________________ Have you kissed your bus today?!!!!

What makes you think the mistake would be intentional!?! I suppose one could trace the letters with one's index finger, but that might result in getting one's face slapped.
