The 4YourVan stuff looks pretty good and the prices seem reasonable.

Rhino Design is also a source with a good reputation:

Guilty as charged.

Current: 1990 Westy Camper - Bostig RG4, 2wd, manual trans w/Peloquin, NAHT high-top, 280 ah LFP battery, 160 watts solar, Flash Silver, seam rust, bondo, etc., etc.
Past: 1985 Westy Camper - 1.9 wbx, 2wd, manual trans, Merian Brown, (sold after 17 years to Northwesty who converted it to a Syncro).

I've recently found this site (https://www.4yourvan.com), they're selling a modular set of cabinets for the Vanagon that seem to be vey well thought-out.

I have no affiliation and most likely won't install any their cabinets (my van is an original Westfalia) but there're several interesting ideas (the rear corner closet with the slide-out kitchen, multiple drawers in the kitchen unit, use of tambour doors, etc). The person who designed truly knew how to maximize the interior space.

It really is a US thing, in Europe there's more people with homemade or interiors bought from small companies I've noticed.

I have access to Solidworks and I'm pretty quick. I might be able to help. I'm also looking for measurements/dimensions for a 1979 T2 bus front dashboard... a CAD file would be amazing! Any ideas?

It's a 4x8 sheet of 1/2" plywood, cut at exactly 5', side-to-side. It's a little short at the seat area (prob 3"). It would be nicer if the grain ran fore & aft, but what are you gonna do. Anyway, thanks for the idea on the ply. I did spend the bucks on it though. It's marine A-A grade. The single sheet was $75.

Also, I sprayed the inside of the van with Cosmoline before I put down the reflix insulation. A word of warning, that stuff smells terrible and toxic. I kept the windows open for a few days before I put down the insulation.

Note: There is a small amount of give/flex to the 1/2" plywood, so I would not go any thinner. This is partly due to the bubble wrap foil insulation underneath, and the fact it's not attached yet. I'm sure it will be fine once I bolt in the plywood & add the fridge & cabinets. I took out all of the factory foam on the floor. A side note, this wood and insulation is about the same weight or as the original carpet with the factory bottom insulation and the middle seat brackets. So, I'm still keeping it light.

I like the cabinnet space and the appliances (even tho I hardly ever use the stove) but my wife likes the bigger bed.
So I'm trying to come up with a design that allows both, using this stufff

The ideal thing, short of having the proper doors, would be to get an old used door. make sure it was perfectly square/flat and properly sized, and use that to set the frames.

I agree. Weight tops all, it kills power, driveability, fuel consumption, premature wear on parts, etc. I feel for them as their trip is a dream for me and most others.

Weight harms EVERY aspect of vehicle performance -- not just acceleration, but cornering, braking and fuel mileage.

Those interested in reducing the wt. of the cabinets can use hexcell -- and it is getting cheaper over time. I have a sample with a wood surface sitting on a coffee table (drink coaster); or you can have Al or carbon fiber, etc.

Cheapest sources will be buddies in airplane manf.; or the dumpsters behind Boeing (or Lockheed). Boeing also has a store where they sell scrap materials.

Cool flooring and nice job chopping the stove!

I'm planning similar shelving, sans appliances. I like the no-door aproach with totes and a lip. I'll probably add some sort of strap or dowel for additional retention on the road. Depending upon the size of the top I might add a tip up table.
