quote="akmush"]Followers of this awesome thread have asked Andrew at various times about his replacing the Passat pedal with the Jetta one that pivots from the floor for a better feel. I am guessing that at this point others have followed Andrew's lead.
If any have done so I'd love to see a pic of your mounting bracket and alterations to the pedal body. So far, I have removed the plastic portion that extends underneath the hinged part of the pedal so it sits mostly flat on the floor. Not sure if I also need to remove the plastic at the other end with the embedded metal washer near where the cable plugs in? Andrew remembers placing it as close to the firewall as possible but does not have photos of the bracket he used.

Nope- I do have the ABS controller mounted in the van and all the brake lines are running through it but I never got around to wiring up the wheel speed sensors. To be honest, I never found the need for it. |

I drove this van up to Burlington VT for the weekend mainly to attend the Wolfsgart show. We had a great drive up and back. The show was a blast, there were hundreds of interesting Euro cars there, not just VWs. I will be making a point to set that weekend aside every year.
Stopping for lunch along the way...
We stayed at a hotel rather than camping on this trip, this was the hotel parking lot....
Mmmmmm!
I love the way my van looks with the rust and faded brown paint but I also think it would look great to duplicate this van...

Thanks! Learning woodworking was my Covid project. I started in February '20 with little wooden boxes and worked my way up to building the boat. Just got it in the water for the first time this past weekend.
It was a happy surprise to find that it fits inside the Vanagon. |

Wow! Such an interesting read of an impressive build!
Any idea if this would work with A6 quattro as well?
I guess it is time to measure my A6 1.8t drive train😊

With the new engine, I need to go to drive-by-wire rather than throttle cable. This is the best solution we have found. I use the late VW accelerator pedal and use a CAT 5 cable to run the data from the cable to the ECM. I also run the OBD2 data through the same cable from the ECM to the diagnostic port we install under the dash.

best to you, please, tell me where this pedal? perhaps you know the part number? or exactly where to use this? or where exactly you bought it?
PS.. sorry for my English |

Andrew - your van still alive and killin it on the roads? Forgo to ask - did you have to cut the crossmember at all to mount the Audi 5 speed (I believe you do for the Subi covnersions). Oh and when can you do this to my van? |
