I would get a bilge blower&make some ducklings so if needed you could have a cooling fan for those mardi graw parades.

Still on my project.
Want to ride this spring. Just not a lot of spare time to work on my stuff.
So it has grown a bit since last time.
I had planed on 92 thick wall. Wound up with a set of mahle 94mm.
So i am 2387cc now, engle fk10, ITB fuel injection and ford edis ignition.
Head are mofoco 050's that have served me well with the extra cooling fins and my odd application. Port work has always been just a buff and fluff job.
I am gonna get more serious about the intake ports this time around.

So about headers.
I still have not come up with a way for true 4 into 1.
So i am planning on a 4 into 2. Pairing 1 and 3 around the flywheel end and out one side. Then pairing 2 and 4 around the pulley end and out the other side.
All the simple header calculators put me around 1.82 to 1.87 Id and 26.5 to 27.5 long for the two cyl header.
As far as I know none of the calculators are vw specific or really take into account enough specifics to truly predict a real tune.

Ok... so any thoughts on a 4 into 2 header and pipe size?

Gonna use it for a sign.

My good buddy who worked on 914's in his parents garage with me some 20+ years ago had his Step Dads Pitts Bi-plane in the garage (along with a Little yellow 1960's Lotus Elan) he had a guy working on it for him rebuilding the wing in the garage because he flipped the plane when landing. so right there in the garage as we wrenched on 914's we watched the guy painstakingly build a bi-plane wing and get it inspected to FAA approval as he went. He used thousands of little nails, special steel, copper plated to resist rust, and pre-coated with some glue to hold it fast in the wood, these little nails were special for wooden airplanes. what a craft.

Yep.
Good thing I don't live in the big city.
My cooling is mph dependant just like any other air cooled motorcycle.
If the jugs and heads were not hanging out in the wind it would cook.
I have a 185 degree switch on my oil cooler fan. It has only turned on twice in the past 20 years.
I think i am going to loose the fan.
I know not to ride in an extremely slow moving parade in 100+ degree heat.
Also if I get caught in a road jam from an accident to just shut if off and wait it out.

Way cool.
Thanks for posting up your ideas.
I am thinking it is the way I am gonna go.
1 and 3
2 and 4
It would let o2 of the front cylinders be seperate from the rear.
That could come in handy with my application.
Run dual tables. The back cylinders could then be a touch fatter than the front.
Same as a Hardley the rear run a little hotter than the front.

thanks guys , Yeah 1-3 4-2 would work better if you can fit it , in my application it was more like build what I want ,, not so much performance .

this is what you cant see in those pics , my exhaust runs right through my motor mount thanks to a 5 inch raise .

Yep.
It is pretty tough.
The 2110 I always estimated at 160hp. That may be a little generous with the open primaries I have always had.
It handily performs with a 100 hp crotch rocket that weighs almost 200 lbs less.
It is going back a 2286. 86 x thick92.
I had been fishing for cam suggestions. About decided on a fk10.
With the lack of a true header I am thinking I can not handle a duration over 270.

What's the history of that little taildragger in the background?

Did that come from an amusement park ride or something?

looks great, paring #1&3 and 4&2 may of worked a little better....but ...that all depends on oh soomany things, like driving style, engine size, rpm range, camshaft etc. very nice work. Ive been thinken on a over the top of the tranie exhaust like the mid mounted buggys use,and doubble walling the exhaust after the merge for heat to the car.....well in my head anyway. as for the scooter I would pair 1&3 THEN 2&4 into that. with free flowing muff. or 1&3 with muff&2&4 with muff onthe other side.or duel it.
