| Probably got to the point where he realized that it wasn't .. quite .. going to work out the way he hoped. It's extremely difficult to fit a VW kit car on anything other than a VW or a bespoke tube frame. |

| I admire your skills! I built a Jamaican in 1968 on an Austin Healey 100-6 chassis.( A crime now...) Originally I was going to build a Caribee but the Fiberfab dealer "Autocraft N.W." showed me a picture of the Jamaican and I ended up getting the second one produced. I know they did not have a BMW in mind!! |

Sorry to hijack but does anybody know what the wheels are in the pic in this ad? |
SBD - they look a lot like vintage Ronal R9. There were a few manufacturers of similar looking wheels back in the 70's, but I think the Ronal R9s were the most available in the US? One of my favorite design wheels! |
Thanks for the info. I really like the look of them. Know of anybody making something like that in a 5 on 4.75" pattern? _________________ "Just $99 down and $64 a month for 36 months buys you a brand new Volkswagen Beetle!"

Hi Moran4x4, I am now making the headlight covers for FiberFab Jamaicans (and the Banshee/Caribee). The plastic is crack proof and I'm asking $80/pair If you (or anyone) could use a set, you can email me at: [email protected] or better yet, give me a call anytime at: 816-286-6982 to talk about the covers.
Thanks,
Mark Clapp

I thought the BMW wheels looked good and gave a nice little nod to the unique base. _________________

Love the transformation - until those wheels appeared. I liked the look of the spoked BMW wheels on the Avenger. _________________ CMC '57 Porsche Speedster Replica and Dolphin boat tailed full pan VW MOD-T Street Buggy |
