I believe it went for $120k... They rearranged the schedule for the weekend due to potentially bad weather Sunday so we didn't make it to the auction. |

WOW, I am not on facebook so I did not see this album. Looked like a killer bus to begin with and he did an outstanding job!

I know the seller to that bus, I bought a 1954 Porsche cabriolet from him. I can promise you that he did not restore that bus with the intention of selling it...for what it is worth. He is a nice guy, a rich guy, and someone that has an open checkbook on most everything he touches.
I am not saying it is a perfect resto, but his intention was to do it right. Completely different from the "other bus" that has been called out as a fake... |

Agree with the price range given by auction company. Hopefully higher, as said definitely one of the better buses available. |
I have that feeling also, I'll be there when the hammer drops! |
Be sure to report back, one on the undercarriage condition and two on price! |

Smoothies are a beetle wheel... but 15 inch.
Maybe your 14's just have the tiny slot... a 14" bus wheel.
Here's some discussion on the 15" to 14" changeover. _________________ aka: Evan

Are the wheels correct?
IF they are, mine are not. They may be earlier wheels, mine are smoothies/14's _________________ kaiser kills kids.com |

Looks like the inner cargo door handle is pointing the wrong direction. Easy to fix.
The bus looks very nice in the photos. _________________ .

I think that round thing in the back is luggage not a spare tire. Bus looked generally nice. |
Yes, you can see it's a hat box if you scroll through all the pics.
They have what is almost a full set of the vintage green luggage that matches Como Green really well.
I have a few pieces myself but not the hat box. _________________ How to Post Photos

I own that same bus. same year, color, and manufacture date almost identical(63>64 year), and in very good condition, but I don't think I would restore it to near perfect-I wouldn't have fun anymore. Every time I get in and go, it is just the best. Mine is a walk-thru w an ambulance step <M coded
My friend just sold his red 23 @ AZ -it was perfect w a heater
After he finished it, he just couldn't bring himself to drive it. It was offered-up at 169k, got no interest, then trailered it off to the auction, got 220K!<>WTF!
If you love your bus and love to drive it, don't strive for perfection, you will end-up always worried, then selling and starting again. _________________ kaiser kills kids.com |

Are those the correct front door handles? I thought all wide hatch busses had button door handles. |
Early 64 buses had the ice picks. I'm not sure when they changed. |
Had to look it up. Production of Aug 63 for wide hatch and Dec 63 for push button. I always though it was done at the same time. |
Just for the record I have a July 1963 panel with a wide hatch. 1145666 |
