I have a 73 Thing it has all the original wiring for the computer plug in and the #1 spark plug connection. Do most people get rid of all the wiring or leave it, seems kind of a waste to have it installed. Any reason to keep it.

As long as it's in good condition I wouldn't take it out. You can map it out and use it as a trouble shooting aid.
