Guilty as charged.
Current: 1990 Westy Camper - Bostig RG4, 2wd, manual trans w/Peloquin, NAHT high-top, 280 ah LFP battery, 160 watts solar, Flash Silver, seam rust, bondo, etc., etc.
Past: 1985 Westy Camper - 1.9 wbx, 2wd, manual trans, Merian Brown, (sold after 17 years to Northwesty who converted it to a Syncro). |

I agree completely , I would never do that to a van , I dont even really like the artwork, but if that rolled up to a campsite near me I could not help but smile and be curious about the occupants.
Somewhere there is the perfect buyer for that van. |

Perhaps with cautious optimism.
Preferred over a group of teenagers
or an RV with a 7,000 watt generator.
I suspect similar to when the 35ft RV feller with the generator…..sees me roll up next door.
( unlikely, but for the sake of discussion )
In my Barn-find original paint Syncro Westy,
where the $$$ spent just underneath my van…..
is perhaps 2X the market value of his Nike-swooshed behemoth.
(Which is the smarter purchase ?)
There’s a buyer for that van around 10k.
The wrap can come off but to advance beyond 10k depends what kind of scars remain when the interior mods are removed.
The decorations don’t suggest the mechanicals were managed with longevity in mind. _________________

Steel dashboard = inaccurate compass. They probably never needed to actually know where they were going.

Oh I know this van!
She lived in Hawaii shortly and wanted AC in her van for her short nosed dog. She considered selling the van when I told her the price tag
Instead she moved back to the mainland, was featured on article somewhere online I saw too.
Well loved Vanagon priced accordingly _________________ Silicone Steering Boots and 930 Cv boots for sale in the classifieds.

In that case she really missed the opportunity to make her ashtray into a volcano. _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic, tragically crushed by a falling hickory tree in my own driveway and now gone, leaving me Vanagonless and with no plans to replace it, alas. |

How do you drive something like that with a straight face. My cars are Frankensteind together but look normal on the outside.
