The Abyssbus. "A seemingly bottomless chasm" pretty much sums it up money and time-wise. My wife named her.

Hehe.... I like that the best. Especially since Mae West was a bit more on the robust side herself.
My Chloe got her name from the paint color.... Chrome Yellow.
Okay, it's a bit of a stretch, but they both start with "Ch".
Before she was delivered, I had nicknamed her Chewy, but can't remember why. Luckily, Chloe fits her better. Kinda classy, kinda old fashioned, kinda fun to hang around with. _________________ -Kent-

Ok, seen as this is the correct place to post this I thought I would put up a few pics of the bus.
Was originally called Bluey by the PO, but restoring it changed the colour from Neptune Blue to Turkis & Pastel White. During the resto started calling it Buzzy as we had restored a BMW Isetta which we called Izzy. Then when I saw the news articles related to below link, I just adapted it to make the full name.
Ours is called "Buzzy McBusface".

Izzy pics (now in Perth, Australia!) - off topic I know but similarity to a Split front I think.

Iβve had this bus just less than 2 years now. My daughters and wife named it for me, their choice was Campy Camperton. Campy for short. 73 adventurewagen unrestored survivor.

So we have a few and had a few:
Serenity: 1975 Westie named by my daughter after spaceship in TV series Firefly. Currently on my vehicle lift getting many things fixed.
Jack Sparrow: 1975 Westie also named by my daughter. First bus we ever bought (approx 6 years ago).
Persephone: 1978 Westie. Daughter of Zeus. I named her. Sold summer of 2017 after fully refurbishing inside and out.
Pistachio: 1979 bus, green. Waiting patiently in my driveway for me to do all the body work and camperize him. Originally a Transporter/Kombi.
Oliver: 1979 bus, also green (Olive colored). Mechanically awesome and previous owner was retired VW mechanic. Always a transporter/Kombi, also waiting patiently for bodywork and to be camperized. I've bought a lot of VW cabinets/insides over the past couple years.....
Cosmos: 1977 Westfalia. When we bought him he had a little plush green alien doll in the back which we have kept with the bus. Hence the name. Cosmos waiting for bodywork and need the transmission repaired: no 3rd gear at all. Have redone all the camping cabinets, wiring, plumbing, charging system, etc.
Garfield: 1974 Westfalia. Orange (all our names usually have some connection to their bus). One of my few buses with dual-carbs. Major problem is backfiring due to exhaust leak and will need eventual body work. Just need to get Serenity off my car lift so I can get Garfields exhaust fixed.
Black Bart: 1973 tin top. Black. Someone before me installed vw cabinets circa 1976. I've done a bunch of inside repairs and rewired a ton. Bus currently not running (the only bus I have not yet gotten running) but I've only literally spent 10 minutes on the engine so far. Black Bart has had a rough life and needs a ton of work on almost everything. But I never ever give up on a bus. He will have his days in sun again.
Casper. 1974 white bus. Straight-up poptop with no windows. Gutted inside and even came with a spare identical engine, both coded CB. Both with original dual carb systems. Eventual plan is full bodywork and install VW camping cabinets, beds, etc.
Stella. Approx a 1974 bus that a friend bought thinking it would be a fun project. Found that no, actually it's a nightmare. This bus also needs a ton of work on absolutely everything. Very little works but it does have a newer single progressive carb installed that has the engine working pretty darned good (especially for a progressive carb). Friend decided far too much to do and I ended up adopting her. So far all I've done is order some parts and started to replace all the brakes and most of the brake components and brake lines. All the bleed screws were snapped off. A couple lines were snapped off. The rear left wheel had no brake parts inside when I took the drum off. Yknow, fun stuff like that.
Every bus has a name and a personality. Absolutely. |

First you have to figure out if your bus is a she or a he. |

My bus's name is quite unimaginative.... Perle
My wife kept suggesting names. I would "ask" her, but she didn't seem to like any of them.
She seems to like Perle, German spelling of course. Maybe she got confused and thinks her full name is Perle White Campmobile (or perhaps Perle Wieb Lagern Mobil?). _________________ ~Kevin

There are other options, including puking the gender fluid out onto the garage floor.
