| Got to put in some vacation dates at work. No mention of Syncrofest 7 here, but a Google search says it's May 4-7. Is this right? I just might be able to trust my firetruck Syncro enough to drive down there. |

I contemplated going in my 2WD tintop just to cruise around on the trails to meet other folks and ogle the cool syncros. I have a Jeep that dominates the entire park but I wanna take my Vanagon!
There's actually 3 of us with tintops that want to go...would we be run off or is it a come one come all type of event? |

There will probably be more 2WD vans than Syncros. All are welcome!
And don't be too confidant about the "dominance" of your Jeep. A capable driver behind the wheel of a Syncro can give a Jeep a run for its money in many situations.

Hell no. In 2011, a $200 2WD went through the boulder garden.

One of these years I'll quit going to Laguna Seca and return to Syncrofest. (Why not both? I can only handle one trip to CA per year. )

You might consider the 50th anniversary of the Can-Am at Road America, the finest track in North America... or Petit Le Mans!

You're welcome. I wish I could be there to help you renege on that promise, but I'm going to Synchro Solstice instead. Bummed to be missing SF since it was a blast last year, but I'm sure Moab will be fun as well.

I went to SyncroFest last year for the first time in my 1.6na Westy.
This year, I'll be attending with my fairly recent mTDI conversion.
Hope to meet a lot of people that I chatted with during the conversion there!
