Hi peeps,
I've been shopping around for gauges. Primarily my speedometer, my 61' came bare. My bus is running 15" wheels and low profile tires (may change in time once running), and IRS conversion, and its slammed with a steering box raise kit, so a stock speedometer may not be my best option.
I am looking at a few options, I saw an older thread for Smiths but didn't see many recent comments on their Speedometers and build quality.
(1)
Not incredibly cheap but the color scheme and programability is nice, it doesnt say "GPS" but I am assuming this model is GPS?

I also like the ISP 2-1 combo with tach, it would save me from cutting another dash hole or some makeshift mount having a gauge hang off, but it's not GPS (not a huge deal), nice price point, classic look. But they also don't make them under 120mph, not a big deal, but I like the ones that go to 80 more like above, ain't hitting much over 72-75 tops in my bus!

And Speedhut, at first it was not my favorite in regards to looks but a top option for me now. I do like that they have other gauges such as fuel and temp, tach which I'll need some of which are built into their speedo's. This is a really strong contender for me.

Anyone use either of these? Results? Any other brands? I've seen a few other brands on the market, but they were way too modern and shiny looking (for my needs), kind of had a cheap look to them or WAY too busy looking.
Thanks all. Thoughts?

Hey Thom, you're in Sac too? Are you selling that one or is it one you had rebuilt for your bus? I think we chatted before. Nice looking unit. |

He's done 2 for me and countless for friends, couldn't be happier with his service and price.
He's almost always at octo with speedos for sale, just ask any of the octo crew for corona Ryan _________________ 58' pg/sg silo fridge westy

Here is some feedback on the Speedhut speedo. There is a lot I like about it. but the thing that actually bugs me is that the built in tachometer is so small that it is nearly useless. I would rather that it was not there. I have a nice medium size Smiths tach I bought but have not yet installed in my bus.
I see no reason with a relatively stock engine to have an 8,000rpm tach. I'll probably never even see 6,000 so I kind of went out of my way to avoid the 8,000 models. Readings on gauges are more relevant and easier if the scale is closer to the range that is needed.

| I installed the ISP west combo in my SC, it works great and looks like it belongs, speed not accurate because I’ve got small tires but I knew that. The Speedhuts all look too modern for my taste. Build it how you like! |

| Mdege , thanks but that looks to be an involved process. I can run a gps speedometer on my phone to see what my real speed is if I really want to know. |
