Syncro Solstice 2026
Arrive Thursday May 14, 2026
Depart Sunday May 17, 2026
Lone Mesa CG Canyonlands, Moab, Utah
Ad hoc trail rides Friday and Saturday as usual. (and Thursday for early arrivals!)
We typically provide some meals with the event and that will be detailed in the registration. Johnny will post registration details in the spring.
We are limited by the BLM to 50 buses and this event usually fills up.
I have personally reserved group site D for any that want to arrive on Wednesday and/or leave on Monday. Contact me for details. This is not part of the Syncro Solstice registration. We will share the cost for the group site among those that are present for the extra day or two. Expect about $15 to $30 per night per bus.
Only six months!

We may actually make it this year! Going from Sycrofest in Hollister out to Moab sounds fun!

<ahem> We’ll have to coordinate on the picked herring, Dan. I shared a one pound tub (including crackers) in about 10 minutes last year and already planned to at least double that amount in 2026!
Looking forward to it!

i recalled how your pickled herring went over and figured it was expected as a newcomer. like sending a visitor away with an armful of rhubarb, you arrive with a jar of fish when coming from Minnesota.

Yes, more pickled herring but leave the lutefisk at home. Lefse would be welcomed. _________________ '84 Westy, '93 Subaru ej22 and Subarugears 5speed

Mr DH
I appreciate your bring snacks out to the event, they are wasted on me though. I see people with more adult palets thought they were tasty though.
I'm going to work this back into my schedule as I've always enjoyed it.

so as a probably attendee this year, i gotta ask...... why is it called Synco Solstice? i mean i like the alliteration and all but 'tain't no where near the solstice!
Solstice is a big deal for us up north. Dec 21st marks the date days will start getting longer, those few minutes count to offset the oppressive actual start of winter despite having had snow for the past 3 months. then June 21st is a day of great sorrow when the days start getting shorter. yup, summer is coming to a close before it began. we put on our SAD light visors around September. _________________ -dan

I was not involved the first SSs. I believe that it got moved into May so that participants could survive the Utah heat. June 21 can be brutal at that group campground in Canyonlands.
(And my wife uses a SAD light visor every morning. Less time needed in summer, more in winter.) _________________ Dave O
