I wish I hadn't forgot to post this years ago. But to anyone using this type of steering wheel, it is potentially dangerous. I dont know how many are floating around.

This picture makes clear for you to see why it's dangerous. Maybe they can be reinforced or something somehow, I dont know.

They are not fixable. I boguht a broken one in hopes of fixing it and the metal its made out of cannot be welded or brazed. sucks.

You could bond that with epoxy. Looks like pot metal.

Chrysler had a rectangular one back in the early 60's that was almost that bad!

I can see how that would be very dangerous------the jaggedy fractured stub
by the hub could give you a really nasty cut. Evil or Very Mad

Ah! I see it now! It's broken, I thought it was just offset as in - the hub was not in the center so the steering wheel would wobble as it turned.

thats not broken!! it just needs to be hung on the wall with 2 sad eyes in it. there I fixed it for ya.

I will rather use a beat up original steering wheel than risk ending up in a canyon 100 feet down.
