Does anyone know where fuse "S13" is or the reverse light switch is located?

Thanks,
Matt

Black bakolite fuse holder attached to the fan shroud in the engine compartment is the fuse for the reverse light switch. The wire comes out of the right side of the firewall...The reverse switch is located on the passenger side of the transaxle towards the front of the car.

Hey Gretmattw, Hank is right on the money.

Do a check though, see if the 'spade connectors' to either side of the fuse are protruding out of
each end of the fuse holder, I had a major 'short' on the wire to the coil
burned it up pretty good and never popped the fuse.

I put a wire cover/sheath shrink wrap and plastic 'coil' of wire loom to protect mine.

Just a future fix so you dont break down, when this occured, my 73 THiNG
shutdown and left me on the roadside with a plume of funky smoke outta the engine bay courtsey of the reverse brake lite fuse holder and 1 spade connector.

Thanks everyone! I can't seem to find the fuse holder on the fan shroud. If I'm looking at the engine (front is front of Thing), is the fuse holder on the front of the fan shroud (where I can't see it) or is it on the back of the shroud facing me? Left or right side?

Thanks!

Mine is sitting on top of the carburetor between the intake duct and fan shroud.

Should be a black wire coming of terminal 15 of the coil to the fuse. Then it goes to the backlight switch on the tranny

Originally, the back-up light fuse housing was secured with a "D" shaped clip that attached to the back of the cooling shroud.
