Sorry if this has been done before, if so...just point me in the right direction. I'm new to the VW world and planning my first long road trip in a 84 Vanagon, 1.9. I would like to know if anybody has put an essentials tool and spares kit together to take out on longer road trips.
If you were taking your van for 4,000 miles in the summer, what would you bring? |

To point you in the right direction, if you use the SEARCH function at the top of the page and type in essential tools, or spare parts, you will get quite a few posts.
That should put you in the right direction. _________________ And then there were two...downsized to 83 Doka &

I just got back from a 2K mile trip and I don't ever take any spare parts with me- nothing. Do all of the preventative maintenance before you leave and you shouldn't need anything.
Some minor hand tools might help with a loose hose clamp or some such inconvenience. |
