I came across a nos 211 953 231 D relay with 11 terminals .
I need help to find the purpose of this relay .

We would need more info on your make and model and where you found this relay.
The part number you gave (from what I can tell) is for a flasher relay. However, a flasher relay has 4 terminals.
The only relay I know of with that 11 terminals would be a double relay from a 1975-79 FI system.
Other Vanagon relays would have 13 terminals.
Double check that part number on that relay again, and do a search or Google the number. _________________ -Mike

I tried to google this number with no luck ...Thanks God you are here !
It is the same that your link .
I bought this relay for use on my 1976 thing ....
I found a 211 953 231 G relay in the thing parts list for the option M 208 (Electrical installation fot trailer operation )
I wonder for what are all those terminals !  |

Late splits, early bays and some bugs had a very complicated turn/hazard and brake lamp relay. Check out the wiring diagrams for the insanity. |
