I also posted this in Body/Paint. Hope that isn't a problem.

Anyone have a good idea on how to paint the door pockets on the inside of Thing doors. I had some success with a small detail gun. This morning I was thinking of using a small roller in the pockets. Have to get something in there to keep it from rusting.

I painted my car 3 weeks ago. I couldn´t get to the deaper recesses of the doors with my detail gun. I think a small roller would do the trick.

If it's for preservation purposes I'd just roll it in.

I'm planning to use bedliner in mine then top that with some short pile automotive carpet for sound deading purposes (just on the outside panel)

Auto Paint stores sell a product called
"Rust Encapsulater" It is supposed to seal off the rust and keep it from spreading. I have never used it myself, but I hear it works.

Eastwood's "Internal Frame Coating" has a 360 degree nozzle, for spraying inside the frame. If you could get one of them, and adapt the tube to your gun, that might work.

I like the look of black door pockets. After painting the doors, I taped off the fresh paint and sprayed the inside of the doors with Duplicolor bedliner and it turned out pretty good. Just enough texture to hide imperfections and will protect them from more rust as well.

I recommend leaving the plugs out of the bottom. Seems to keep the inside of the door drier. At less wetter Laughing
