So i decided to install suicide doors in the 72 VW Standard I have. I am sure there must be a post but wanted to make it easier to find... here is the website I am following and what I have done on the driver door just to show how easy it can be.

Also, I found these Hinges on Ebay for $100... There are cheaper options then just AutoLoc or Suicidedoors.com....
These are the hinges being used:

I noticed on this picture that your hinges were placed on the outside of the door jam area (then welded to he door). I just cut a square hole into the door jam area and fit the hinges in the square through the pillar. Love your thread though... |

We cut the pillar and placed them in. That is why it looks like it does. _________________ If it ain't steel, it ain't real |

If you need any help with this, ask me... it really is a two person job to line the doors up... i only have myself and it was a pain... and dont take the windows out until after your done to make sure they are functioning still after the hinges are in... this honestly will take time... also once the the first door is in, the second one is easier.... |
