Hi, i am hoping someone can help me with a picture of the stickers/decals that were on the late model air cleaner. Typically '72 to '74. Another member here, Waxhead, makes some great replacement stickers, but i need this one and he needs an image to reproduce it. Can anyone help with images?
Thanks
Geoff

Go to the Gallery (top of page) type in air cleaner and in the lower box click on ghia coupe and on the 2nd page there are some.

Hi, i have tried the gallery for images, but really looking for mor detail and clarity.
Possibly they were painted on, mine is long gone, thinking a good quality sticker or water transfer is the best way to go. But all thoughts welcome.

On the 2nd page look for air cleaners with orange stickers and clk. on them then expand them, pretty clear.

I looked in the 1974 Karmann Ghia Owner's Manual, but did not find a photo to suit your needs.
However I found THIS ONE among the Samba Gallery photos linked to above by Nicholas, ...

Label/ sticker/ decal oil bath filter early bay bus

Artwork for oil bath (originally silkscreened on). Also have seen it on a late 60's/early 70's Kharman Ghia

Photoshop file at

If someone could confirm whether or not that is indeed the same "sticker" used on the late model Karmann Ghias, then you may be in luck.

BTW, have you considered the fact that it may just be simpler/easier/cheaper to find yourself a good used late model Karmann Ghia oil bath air cleaner with the original silkscreened info still intact rather than trying to have stickers created?

Ok, that is what i need.
It is interesting, that link did not work when i first tried it, but it foes now.
Trying to find and ship an aircleaner would be harder thsn remaking the label, and if i ever need i will have a spare.
Thankyou for that.
Going back to explore that link now

Nice sticker.

First word in the 3rd line is misspelled; should start with "G": GEGEBENENFALLS which means "as needed" in German.

I'm not sure that I really want to be "that guy" that mentions this, but ...

... isn't there additional silkscreen/decal information on the long fresh air intake snout of the aircleaner as well?

Very likely similar to what is found on this Type II aircleaner, ...

... only presumably with a Karmann Ghia part number rather than the bus part number.

I only mention it because you seem like you're trying to accurately replicate the "original" look

Again from the Gallery link provided earlier by Nicholas, there is THIS ONE ...

Check out my ads to purchase these stickers.

If you try contacting waxhead, perhaps he could create a Karmann Ghia part number decal for you.

Thanks for that, i have forwarded the info to him, he is checking if he has dimensions. All of this helps.
Yes, trying to get detail correct, while not OCD about it, where i can, i like it to be right.
Thanks
