Does anyone use a thread sealer that is a better alternative to teflon tape?

Thanks

I use this or car plumbing, and home plumbing, just about everything that needs a thread "sealer"...

Loctite 565 has to show up in here because it is the real business. (Anaerobic magic Teflon sauce)

Threads need to be super clean for most sealers to work well.

I have used this for decades. GM makes it. I use it on most anything that would require Teflon tape.

Actually, someone makes this for GM and puts the GM information on it.

Just like Dexcool, Dextron....oil filters, spark plugs, etc.

Loctite and Permatex are huge in sealers and thread lockers manufacture, and are excellent products.

Over the years I’ve used everything from products that say thread sealant on them to tub and tile caulk. They’ve all worked for the application.
Can you use tub and tile caulk on the space station?
I dunno.

Technically TEFLON tape (not actually a trade name of company that holds copyright for "TEFLON") is not a thread sealer, its a thread lubricant so you can tighten tapered thread connections tighter and possible get better interference in tapered threads.... The correct definition for "the tape" is PTFE....

PTFE is poly tetrafluoroethane.
