Hi,
My brass fuel inlet pipe is not holding in the carb body anymore. I have seen that it is possible to replace it with a threaded fitting.
Which diameter of threaded pipe will fit on a 30 pict carb ?

Thanks,
Bernard

What I did was a little less work but held well... I rolled the fitting pressed hard between two coarse files, dimpling it. Then I used some form of gas-resistant epoxy and shoved it in. You might want to do your fuel pump fittings while you are at it. And do not add a fuel filter to the hoses there... the weight adds to the force trying to pull it out, unless you support the filter with a clip on the shroud (but better to locate it under the car next to the tranny, and use a metal one with the date/mileage written on it with a Sharpie).

As mentioned take that and file a cross hatch pattern on it. As mentioned reinsert with some JB weld. That is what I did. It will work fine.

A 1/4" barb to 1/16" NPT fitting will work.

Had the same problem when the pipe blew out on the carb on the highway doing 60 MPH and sprayed the entire engine with fuel. How it never caught on fire I'll never know.

I called Loctite and told them I needed to "glue" 2 dissimilar metals together that have to withstand heat, vibration and gasoline. They recommend Loctite RC/609. Been on there for 25 years. The bond is so tight you would have to drill it out. This "retaining compound" only works when there is a small clearance between the two parts (not to exceed .005")
