Congrats, Dave. She looks really nice in her new paint job and BEING ON THE ROAD!!!! Nice repaired bumpers and cladding.
We barely have any buds at all on anything up here, but sugar season may still continue for a bit. Two fairly fierce snow squalls during the day, but only 3/4" stuck. Surprised the town crew wasn't out wearing down the hard facing so they could re weld it and make some overtime.

Crap. Why do bad things happen to nice guys??? I guess that's the reason I don't have any bad things happen to me. "I'm the luckiest man alive."
Let's hope it's a finger tight bolt someplace.

Left Early, just my Pup Beau and I, a guys day out
To say Beau was nervous about the Van would be an understatement!
He loves going in the car, but he is in the rear seat in a sling fastened to the headrests.
This was a new experience that started with the terrifying SCREEEEEETCH!! BANG! Of the sliding door.
I had but a blanket between the front seats which he sat on and refused to move off of....... he sat, no lying down, looking out over the dashboard.
As a bonus? I had to be touching him almost constantly. If I had let him, he would have sat on my lap.
I headed out avoiding all major roadways, Interstates or interstate like roads.
I took back roads and actually drove right by BusDepot, it pained me that I didn't have an order to pick up!
From there I headed to Doylestown and stumbled across a memory from long ago when my Wife and I were dating 50 some odd years ago and we ended up quit by chance at the Moravian Tile Works.
This spot has always been special to us...... it was a pleasant surprise to see it again! It does seem to have gotten much more refined and sterile........ progress?
https://www.thetileworks.org/
To celebrate, Beau got out and peed.
Beau had been sitting nicely on the back seat...... until I decided to take a photo!
From there we headed towards New Hope Pa. Yet another funky old town taken over by rampant commercialism.
My Wife and I used to spend days out here 50 years ago when it was a hamlet of the old hippy artisans..... it seems that they've been replaced by common shop keepers.
sadly the free bridge to New Jersey is closed so we crossed into New Jersey on the 202 toll bridge.
We followed 202 for quite a ways going through Flemington, one of the original outlet shopping areas, it too has been swallowed up in mass retail attempts and is bumper to bumper traffic.
As we drew close to my Brothers home we passed by a great New Jersey icon, the Circus Clown. This clown has stood for as long as I can remember and is in the book Weird New Jersey. I've read it is currently threatened by the wrecking ball........

Oh wait!
I forgot to say how the Van worked!
Keep in mind this has been sitting since...... September..... and it is now almost April.
Upon start up I had a symphony of lifters singing to me.
It took a little bit of time but they quieted down.
1) The differential oil weeping out the weep hole produces just enough oil to make it stink link gear oil.
2) Under certain conditions, a THUNK from the RF wheel. I already have new ball joints from T3, I need to see how bad it now is.
3) The high idle from the sticking throttle body, but that part will be here next week from GoWesty,
4) I need to research the relationship of engine RPM to MPH in 3rd gear.
The Automatic transmission pulls good, shifts good, no funny noises but it seems to me that I have fairly high RPM's for top gear?
On a flat cruise.....
55 MPH 3500 rpm
60 MPH 3700 rpm
65 MPH 3900 rpm
Overall ....... once I look at that RF wheel I would be quite comfortable hitting the road. _________________ Stop Dead Photo Links how to post photos

During my travels the past few days, I've gotten the normal thumbs up and "what year?" Comments.
This morning it is pouring rain so I took it to the hardware store to get some items and test the wipers and such.
Now, I'm not a McDonalds hater and I support the Ronald McDonald House for the great work they do for families in need.
I stopped to get breakfast, what I consider to be one of their better meal offerings and the coffee isn't bad.....the hash browns? Tasty, but greasy as all get out.
Anyway I pull up to the pay window and it flies open almost leaving its tracks.
This high school age head leans out and looks the length of the Van and exclaims "How much? I just got my license yesterday and this is exactly what I want.......... After fees and insurance I have $2.06!"
Sadly I broke his heart by turning down his generous offer......... _________________ Stop Dead Photo Links how to post photos

Sorry, but repaint. The problem is moisture interacted with the paint itself changing the molecular structure. It's as though you want to unfry an egg. Now that you have made the panel easily removable, it shouldn't be too big a deal to re shoot it.
You could try to cover it with a gloss clear top coat, but you won't get a match. This is a 10 foot paint job, so give the temp fixes a try--maybe you'll get lucky.
