I found a picture of a car in the gallery and I'm trying to figure out the color so I can use it on my 67 fasty.

The poster was TheDDB and has not logged on since 2009. Can anyone help with what that color might be or is there a way to contact TheDDB?
TIA

Searching the old DDB posts, here is a thread about that car:
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=538566
It's actually a lighter metallic than your photo shows.
Apparently the owner had the shell painted before DDB ("Martin") went to work, so he didn't know the color. Oregon plate, if that narrows it down, but the thread didn't name the owner.
Judging from the seller feedback thread on DDB, you probably don't want to have much to do with him... |

porsche colors are always a classy choice
if you have a couple days to look at a zillion pictures of different colors
I think they have 80+ blues

Thanks guys.
Just got back from talking to the local automotive paint store owner (recommended by the guy who will be painting the car). We went through his enormous collection of color cards and settled on a European Ford color from 2010. We doctored the formula slightly to make the metal flake finer and I came away with 4 oz that my painter can apply to a card we can look at.

That color reminds me of Raf's late Square that he ran some chromed Porsche rims on. It looked beautiful, and quite a few of us liked it.
It also kind of reminds me of my own Notch that has a custom mixed BMW Bavarian Bluemetalic paint color on it.

Yeah, I liked it when I originally custom mixed it (from 2 different GM colors I had in the shop), and when I had some more mixed up, the paint supplier actually gave me a code for it (so I could get more mixed at a later date). _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
