Ok Folks here is a fun one for sure.

This 57 is currently registered as the second oldest convertible made.

It has come to me for the Full WrennMetallWerks Treatment.

I will treating it as I do all my reconstructions. First step is to demo all the unwanted metal and substandard existing repairs. I will be opening up all the cavities in preparation for blast and primer.

I opened up a few windows this afternoon to get an idea of what I will be up against moving forward.

This Kab is in to replace the rotation spot that is currently being held by the 58 coupe I’m currently wrapping up.

I will use spare time and weekends to get this one ready to go down to American Stripping so it is ready to cycle in rite on time.

Some good bits there.... but lots of bad bits too. Underneath the paint is a real cover up.

You are kicking me out! My wife will be happy to hear it. Hate to say it but that one needs to be blasted, demo'd then blasted and coated. I can't wait to see how this one turns out.

Hey Folks….

Ya ….. this one needs some serious love. I will admit I’m not looking forward the shock of the unknown…. Often it’s easier to fix a rusty and damaged car than a car that has been previously and poorly sorted out.

That VIN is later than mine so it was built on or after December 31, 1957.

No, I did one 16 years ago for a client, curious where it ended up.

Any idea who did the previous restoration? Koch or West Coast Classic, as both had a few go thru restorations about 20 years ago.

^^^ Hello there ^^^

These are some fun Kars to reconstruct… hope it was a good experience for ya.

So I’m told that this was done very recently. The metal work , body and paint was performed at;

BerZerKer Auto Moto

In the SLO County .

My hope is that this new chapter will be a fun and exciting one for myself and all those who will be following along.

Very Happy

I'm not sure when they stopped stamping the body number in the convertible hinge covers. My February 4, 1958 cab had the body number 351 stamped in the hinge covers. I'll have to dig through the pics on my old computer to find them.

In Progressive Refinements Volume 1 (page A-41) it says ...

29 August 1959 Body number omitted, no longer stamped in.

No mention of the hinge covers though.

Are those all flakes from inside the heater channel rust? It looks to be a curious mix of really quite good in places with some poorly finished repairs, but if that is rust then there is something seriously wrong! Looking forward to watching this one.
