looks like it's most suited to front end jobs as listed in the ad so depends if you anticipate doing that on a trip. the nut sizes along the side would need a lot of swing clearance rarely found on the car and it's made of hard anodised aluminium...so an expensive beer opener in my opinion
This SlickSpanner fits the following;
Ball Joint Eccentric
Tie Rod Jam Nuts
Tie Rods
19mm
17mm
13mm
Factory Spindle Nuts &
Bottled Beer. _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

Better off with just a couple of cheap adjustables for 1/3 the price.
That’s $2 of laser cut metal. $9.99 would be a fair price _________________ .ssS! |

You don't need anything special to tighten the spindle nuts or the eccentrics. And are you really going to do a front end alignment while "on the road?"
Are they implying one needs to carry emergency tools to work on their custom front end while traveling? To me, that does not really inspire confidence in their parts. _________________ Brian

You keep that spanner next to the Swiss Army knife and Leatherman multi tool that doesn’t get used. At least the Leatherman has decent pliers. _________________ Keep on Busin'

My wife bought me a Leatherman Surge about 15 years ago. I keep it in the work truck and use it often. |

Leatherman is a quality tool. I have a few the sales reps gave me over the years. I keep one in the buses. I’ve never grabbed it since I have a simple roll of proper tools for a VW. Fun fact. Tim Leatherman’s inspiration for his multi tool came from his time spent in Europe during the 70s working on his janky Fiat on the side of the road with a Boy Scout knife.
Leatherman HQ is not to far from me.

I use my Victorinox multiple times daily.
Yeah, $62 is way too steep. _________________ "Knowledge is Good" - Faber College |

Believe me. As a former sporting goods manager. I’m happy people find value in the products I sold. They are worthy tools. Just not something I will rely on for VW fixes when I have a roll of other tools under the seat. Point being, I don’t need a $65 piece of metal that will not work as well as $20 roll of assorted tools I already have. _________________ Keep on Busin'

Um....how many read the specs and realize that it's made of anodized aluminum?....and roughly 1/4" thick?
Yep, just fine for the spindle nut...and maybe the eccentric if you remembered to put anti seize on it. Virtually anything else....if it has any torque on it at all.....I see it as functional for only a few uses before its dinged up. Ray |

Looks like something that Bob Vila would endorse. Remember the Robogrip? |

The Swiss army comes with a cork screw, bottle opener, roach clip, and personal grooming tools...as well as other basics.
Ive seen too many friends fuck up badly with a leatherman that put an end to their evening aspirations. _________________ my59: Well son, my grandfather died before I got to drive it, so does that answer your question?

What kind of work on the car were your friends doing using a Leatherman or Swiss Army knife? They don’t seem like tools to depend on if you need to work on you car along the side of the road, nor does that spanner seem useful in my travel bag. To be fair. I’ve never used that spanner. Maybe it’s a terrific $65 tool to use. _________________ Keep on Busin'

The roach clip attachment will make you not care! |
