Until I find the illusive 1967 Karmann Ghia seats I need something to put into my Ghia. I was wondering if Bug seats and rails fit in my car? The car currently has not seats or rails.
Thank Guy!!!! Much Appreciated! |

No, but seats are way to narrow. You’d have to weld tracks in twice which makes no sense.
‘67 seats are only one year in the sense that they had this ridiculous mechanism for releasing the seat back. You can use any Ghia low back or even 68 high back Ghia seats on your current tracks. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Replacing the rails twice is not a big deal. My brother is a welder so I have no labor costs🤣 |

They likely would fit then, but they are much narrower, you have to position the rails right or you will be sitting cockeyed. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Welding in rails for beetle seats, that will later be removed, seems like alot of extra unnecessary work when 56-68 Ghia seats will fit the seat tracks for your 67. Not to mention that the Beetle seats won't feel right in a Ghia. Not only are they narrower, but I'm pretty sure they're quite a bit taller, so your head might be bouncing off the headliner.
Here's some 64 seats that will fit your 67 perfectly

Unless you're planning on re-creating the rube-goldberg cable mechanism that 67 had attached to its seats, I would buy these and re-cover them for your car. The frames are otherwise the same.
Also, the search function is helpful

You might get bug seats to fit in the Ghia, but YOU sure as hell wouldn’t fit in the Ghia once they were. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Thanks for all the info guys! I didn't think about the height difference and being 6'4" it matters!
What are your thoughts on the Pro 90 seats from Scat VW? They make them for the 67 Ghia so i'm assuming the brackets are shorter than the ones for a bug.
