Ok Folks I’m back at it again. This time it’s a late model Coupe.
This will be another one that was taken from a shop , now I can redo and finish it.
Unfortunately the passenger side heater channel and rear quarter got put on in the wrong position. Not only did the holes in the channel not line up to the pan but the whole back portion of the body would not sit down flat on the pan. The owner told me that the previous repair was done on a rotisserie with little to no bracing when he we cut away the channel. I suppose that’s where it all went wrong. I will need to remove the channel and start over once it gets back from blast and prime.
I will need to use a pan and the layout table together to try to sort out the mess.
This should be a fun and challenging one.

I’ve been watching the progress on the LowLight. Your work is fantastic. Could you please share a ballpark estimate on the metalwork on a project of this sort? |

Hey there…. Ya know I really do appreciate your interest and following along.
The price can vary from job to job as you can imagine…
My auto response these days is “Very Expensive”
In the interest of protecting my clients shoot me a PM and I can go into further detail for ya…
Thanks again. _________________ ⚒ Believe In The Power Of Positive Thinking ⚒

No worries. I just thought people might be interested in knowing what it really takes to do work to this standard. I’m amazed people will put this kind of money into a car that will never be worth the sum of its work.
Keep up the great work! |

^^^ For my clients it’s about the passion for this industry and the journey it takes to reach a goal at this level…. Often the most value is in the experience and the pride and joy of the finished product.
I hear ya when you say you can’t imagine, it’s definitely not for everyone.
The folks that want to know how much this cost and mostly importantly, those that can afford it … typically already have an idea of what the journey will look like. Lately I have blessed to say that by the time a client connects with me they have already done some deep poking around and made a fairly educated decision to pursue their passion at a cost they have come to terms with.
This is an elective hobby and for me and so many others it’s a very rewarding one. Money comes and goes … _________________ ⚒ Believe In The Power Of Positive Thinking ⚒

Looks like a '64 or '65, with the small radio opening and one switch position to its left as seen from the driver's perspective. '64 was first year of the "block" style door latch instead of the "C" shaped one thru '63. Not a '66 with the 2 large main gauges because that had light and wiper switches to the left of the speedometer and no switches between the radio and the clock. |

Six Four
I’m doing the same year Ghia for my wife. Hers is a Vert though. We are both really looking forward to driving it one day. It’s still in the demo stage of the body. I did the pan already. Ya know ….. maybe I will start a build thread on it. That could be fun. _________________ ⚒ Believe In The Power Of Positive Thinking ⚒

Man! This thing looks good from far, but it’s far from good. Lots of crappy repairs to repair. _________________ '58 Ghia 2387cc with a Berg / Folts 5 Speed

I know I say this a lot but it so true. I really am blessed with amazing clients. I was chatting with the owner this morning and although this project will take some time it’s not all about the cost but the value. The value is in the journey and the relationships along the way. This kar has special meaning that isn’t looked at through the lens of cost….. its jobs like these that keep dreams and the industry alive! _________________ ⚒ Believe In The Power Of Positive Thinking ⚒
