Lots of choices out there. Looking for a source from someone who's purchased a set, recently. Just looking for the carbs. 40 IDF's.
Thanks! _________________ PM me about quality metal-work on your vehicle.

My 44's came from CarCraft. A little tuning, but they've been fine so far. YMMV of course _________________

| Recently got a hpmx40 from cip1. Took it apart immediately for inspection. Nothing wrong with it, even the float was correct. I was surprised. |

these are the clean 48's I know of, usually there is a red "Sherry Berg" watermark. I know, blatant rip off I don't like it either :

They sell 40's too I would contact directly with what you want. Linkage and probably manifolds you are of course better off CB Performance or elsewhere

This worked great for my single IDF build float was set at 14mm and it had zero debris/metal chips inside perfectly clean. I had it in my cart for a few days they gave me a offer for 67$ hell of a deal. Shipped fast. Bought all the jets from car craft everything fit fine.

When I bought my IDF40 clones, I contacted Samba Member Jpaull for advise. He suggested that I stay at from the FAJS carbs, stating that the transition is better with the non fajs factory carbs. He sent me a link to a set that he thought was good on eBay. I bought them and thought they were excellent for the price. I used the CB intakes, linkage and filter bases. I did not change any jets as they came set up pretty good. I had them on a 2109 in my ‘65 Beetle.
Here’s the link to what I bought.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/184234983682?mkcid=16&...media=COPY
I had internal issues with that 2109 and had a 2175 built. I had the compression bumped and a set of IDF48 clones put on, I used the same CB intake set up. The 48s are branded Thundermingo and I bought them from Amazon. I think these carbs are excellent! No issues with cold starts, hot starts, they idle well and have a smooth transition. Jetting was pretty good out of the box, although I did put a 2.00 air correction jet in for a little better mileage. I currently have around 2500 miles on this set up and it’s still running well.
I spoke to a guy who bought a set of 40s branded KIPA from Amazon, but I do not know how they ran for him. I did hold them and they looked to be just as nice as any of the other clones.
For some reason I came get the Thundermingo or KIPA Amazon links to work. If you search for them, I’m sure you'll find them.
Good luck

Believe the EMPI HPMX series are about the best thing going right now, be sure you get 2/3 generation versions.... Like any carbs to day, first thing after receiving them it to open them up clean everything , check float height adjustments.... _________________ “Fear The Government That Wants To Take Your Guns"

Thanks for the replies. I ended up getting these:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/155287349032
I couldn't even find cores for that price.
Manifolds and partial linkage were a trade with a friend. Going on a 70 914 that hasn't been running in years, after some troubleshooting determined a bad ECU. _________________ PM me about quality metal-work on your vehicle.

China IDF.
Has anyone seen this one ??
Interesting 40 IDF, different castings, 26 mm Venturis, F7 emulsion tubes.
edit.. also looks to be set up for Center pull Linkage.
wondering what anyone might think about these for a smaller displacement engine.

Item NLA when I clicked the link.
Look for sherryburg on ebay. They carry FAJ'S IDF clones.
I've installed a set in the past. They worked great. _________________ I have learned over the years.

Here is a link of the same ones with the extended fuel bowl:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/326236075464?_skw=40+idf+...BM4Nnrjc1k
I dont know anything about these. These are from the seller that sells the FAJS idfs. For that reason, im suspect if these come from their also. In the past they were not as good as one of the other larger factories with the other non FAJS IDF's. Maybe they are great though, who knows. That casting looks super clean. _________________ [email protected] MPH 1/4 Mile & 8.1 @ 83.7MPH in 1/8 Mile with Mild Type 1 VW Mag Case 2234cc commuter engine in stock weight bug w/only .491 total lift(CB2292 Cam), 42x37 heads, 48idf's, Street tires, Belt on, Mufflers, Pump gas, video of the run here: https://youtu.be/M3SPqMOKAOg

Those have that same float bowl shape as the "Decade" brand carbs that popped up about 6-8 years ago.
Might do a search here for Decade, and see what pops up.
