Solex 30 pict 2 on 40hp

Any good or bad reason why I should or shouldn’t use a 30pict2 carb for my 40hp engine, wanted to do a big bore conversion in future along with Aircooled vintage Sebring style exhaust, Bosch 4r5 distributor?

The distributor will not work with that carburetor. Starting with the 30 PICT the vacuum signal got stronger than what you need. I assume you have a 28 on there now. That one has the correct vacuum signal for your distributor vacuum canister.

Ok, thanks il stick with my 28 any other upgrades or mods you can recommend?

If/when you do the big bore and change to the 30 PICT 2 you will want to find either a 113 M or T distributor or go with a mechanical advance only distributor. The 113 M or T are vacuum advance only aluminum bodied.
