There is nothing like this for the Empi shifter so I got this for Christmas and decided to make it work. It leaves an ugly gap if you use it as is and I did not like it. I screwed the insert down tight and then took a cheap hf 3/4" countersink bit to the brass insert. I kept drilling and then checking until I got it to work when I pulled the trigger for reverse. Then I used red threadlocker to bind the insert to the knob in the correct orientation. I let it set over night and unscrewed the whole unit. Finally, I filled the void inside with JB Weld epoxy, the 2 part kind with the mixing tube to get in below the threads. That dried over night again and it fits and works perfectly with no gap.

Nice work. I put a skull on my Hurst shifter in a similar fashion. Now it’s hanging on the wall and the black knob is my draw. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

I gently filed the bottom insert until a blue #2 pool ball had the right 'direction' when tightened. _________________ Daily driver: '69 Baja owned 45 yrs - Plan B: '72 Ghia
