I use my van not as much as I'd like but when I do it's lots of miles and often off road overgrown trails.

I have a set of vintage ProjektZwo drivng lights that are expensive and hard to get parts for. I like the look of them and they are very functional in dark areas. I am always worried about them getting cracked or road worn.

In steps Terrawagen with his new 2.0 version of fog light replacements. They look as good if not better with nice Hella logo and perfect no wavy fit against the body of the housing.

The install was very basic. It comes with printed instructions (Thank you) as well as a link to his install video. As I had lights previous I did not have to do any wiring except add connectors to match my existing wires. I have mine wired as Fog lights and switchable by a factory Fog light switch. The kit comes with wiring, connectors and a relay for any number of ways to wire it.

They look dashing and I can safely put my PZ lights on the shelf for future use or when period correct really matters.

The very best part is that it comes with 2 different treats for when you're done. No not really, one is a Desiccant and you should not eat it.

I will try them at night in a few days. Van is in for some other items, one project at a time.

The Terrawagen light look good. Thanks for the write-up.

Q: does the install require drilling of holes into the body?

No holes in the body, you do have to drill holes in the lower grill. This is one of the advantages over the PZ that over lap the grill either way overly thin plastic.

It does come with all necessary fasteners and is ready to go out of the box.

I also finished installing mine last night. The fit is very good. Once installed, the beams need to be aligned to each other. Not much in the way of adjustability, going to try to align them again tonight.
One thing I made was a switchback relay. When you use the turn signal switch, say you're making a right turn, the right fog light will go off until the turn signal light goes off. Makes oncoming traffic able to see your turn signal light

Are these true fog lights? I remember the original Terrapods were using some LED lights that people complained were only useful as DRL.

Also, can the lights be replaced/removed from the assembly in case one breaks?

I have the MMT3 fog lights installed, but they’re falling apart (plastic is very brittle), this set looks like an interesting alternative.

They are true fog lights. And they are replaceable. The difficulty with them is trying to adjust their aim. There is a screw on each end of the lens that holds it to the plastic housing. Not a lot of room for adjustment. And the backside of the H3 bulb is very low profile. If you wanted to use an LED bulb, the ones with a larger base with a fan in it will not work. No room for it in the housing.

Since installing my 2.0s I've finally decided to have my new Aluminum radiator installed.

I've found when removing the lower, grill it is best to remove the grill and the lights as one unit.

Those provided push pins are tight and i think it is less effort to remove it as a unit.

YMMV

Anyone have a picture of them installed on a van with round headlights?

Not the same lights, but to give you an idea how they could look, this is pic of my van with the MMT3 lights installed and the Smallcar "South Tacoma" grill.

Some people might be offended by having round lights and the ProjectkZwo kind-of lights, I don't have any issue.

How did you run the wiring to the light pods? Did you notch the lower grill to fish the wires between it and the body or something else?
I have a couple of deutsch connectors ready to go, just looking for a good path forward.

Those are very nice looking. I want more light and found some Hella pie-plate driving lights in the shop . . . I don’t know that I want that much light, considering the typical modest speed of the van, being able to throw light down a football field seems pointless. A nice tidy driving light would be nice.
