Bruce Bewarder was one of Fresno's VW Gurus. Sadly he passed in 2017 but his memory and craftsmanship with VW's live on in us. So come celebrate his life and legacy with a cruise from near his house to lunch. Meet up behind the In N Out on Blackstone, north of Ashlan (drive thru the parking lot to gathering of VWs). We will cruise and trade VW stories at the gathering and drive to lunch.
PLEASE do not attend if you can not wear a mask outside your VW. We need to PLEASE be in compliance with California mandate. Hope to see you there.

The Cincy VW Club has set the Date ... Sunday, September 27, 2020
Facebook Page for All the Details
We were hoping to avoid this, but unfortunately due to the worsening pandemic we are postponing the Type 3 Rally. We will be updating the Type 3 Rally topic in the Type 3 forum with new 2021 event dates when we can confirm them, so watch that discussion for updates. Thanks for your support and see you in 2021.
It’s time to start preparing for the 2020 Type 3 Rally! This will be the fourth California Central Coast Type 3-only driving event, and once again we’re planning to base operations around the historic Borradori Garage overlooking the ocean in Cayucos, one of the last unspoiled beach towns in California. Enjoy an epic weekend with Type 3 enthusiasts from all over California and beyond!
As with the last three Central Coast rallies, all Type 3s are welcome to attend — ’61–’73, stock or custom, restored cars or daily drivers. We’d love to see everything from Notchbacks, Squarebacks, Fastbacks and Type 34s to Brazilian Type 3s and Type 3-based buggies, specials and ratrods — anything Type 3 is welcome! There’s no cost to participate in the event other than gas, food and accommodations.
Follow the 2020 Rally thread for the latest updates:

TheVDubHub.com, in partnership with the Vintage Volkswagen Club of America and Rare Vintage Air Car Club, invite you to join us for The Canyon Cruise to the Temecula Valley Wineries. This FREE event is open to everyone with a vintage Air-Cooled vehicle, including Porsche and Volkswagen.
Join us for Southern California’s Mother of all cruises. 75 miles of scenic driving through two epic canyons, Santiago Canyon, Ortega Highway, and the Temecula Valley wine region.
Because this is a rather lengthy cruise, you're welcome to join up or leave our group at any leg of the route.
We’ve planned our route through streets and canyons, minimizing traffic stops, in order to maintain the flow of the group. We’ve excluded driving on freeways and kept the entire cruise on city streets.
We’d like to remind everyone to bring your masks and face coverings to this event. There will not be support vehicles.

Location: Mission Viejo / Dana Point / San Clemente area.
Date: Sunday, October 25th
Time: 10:00AM - 4:00PM
We will make at least one more scouting trip to pick the exact location before announcing it. Mostly to determine of there's good likelihood of getting a group of parking spaces in one area of the parking lot to gather.
The location will be a park, or a beach in the general area.
Revenue priorities: 1. Bathroom(s). 2. Nice, scenic location. 3. Low or no cost parking (Cost likely between $5-$10). 4. Pet-friendly. 5. Walk to nearby food options.
We might not be able to have all of these items fulfilled.
The region was selected to be close enough to attract Vanagon owners from the LA and San Diego areas. Those in Orange County benefit from being the closest!
How fare is this area from....? (Give or take about 5 miles depending on the ultimate venue.)
Oceanside: 28 miles
Anaheim: 34 miles
Long Beach: 42 miles
Escondido 46 miles
Riverside: 58 miles
Central San Diego: 65 miles
Santa Monica: 72 miles
Event name? None, at least none yet. Something might come to me.
Agenda? None really - just an opportunity to hang out and talk and se each other's vans.
Registration? None - please tell me if you're planning to attend so we can know what to expect.
Cost? None - except the venue's parking fee.
What's included? Nothing. Just hang out and see some Vanagon people.
What about COVID? Please plan on social distancing. This will be 100% outdoors, and provide plenty of room to KEEP YOUR DISTANCE. Please don't get inside anyone's van but your own and avoid touching, hugging, and kissing! :-) Do not attend if you have any symptoms: cough, fever, shortness of breath, diminished sense of smell. Do not attend if you are in a high-risk group with pre-existing conditions.
Exact venue will be announced by October 19th, but will be in the area described above.
