Core Collective Marketplace – How Payouts Work
We want to make it easy, transparent, and rewarding for you to trade in your cores. Here are your options:
1. Payment Timing & Method
Pre-Paid via PayPal (Goods & Services): Fastest option, but carries risk on our end since payment is made before we receive your parts.
Send First, Audit Later (+10%): Ship your cores, we'll audit them, then pay you by fee-free PayPal or company check — with a 10% bonus.
Store Credit (+20%): Choose Airkewld store credit instead of cash, and we'll increase your payout by 20%.
2. Beam + Transaxle Core Bonus Program
If you've purchased both a PRObuilt Beam and a PRObuilt Transaxle and want to send in your cores together, here's how payouts work:
Drop-off at a freight terminal near you: $800
Business pickup: $700
Residential pickup: $600
All prices are based on PayPal (fee-free) or company check.
Prefer store credit? Add +10% to the above totals.
PROtip: Drop-off at a terminal gives you the highest cash return, while store credit maximizes your value.
What Qualifies as a Bad Core Component?
Not all cores can be reused. Here are examples of components that we cannot accept:
Control Arms - Deep grooves in the arm - Bent arms - Missing or broken shock studs
Spindle Assemblies - Welded gussets - Damaged spindle threads or bearing surfaces
Steering Boxes - Non-VW logo boxes - Severely corroded tops
Transaxles - Exposed to the elements and heavily corroded
Best Shipping and Handling Practices - To ensure your cores arrive safely, please follow these guidelines:
Small Parts - Use a sturdy box with no empty space inside. Pack tightly so nothing shifts — if you can hear movement, add more packing material.
Multiple Arms or Spindles - A 5-gallon bucket with a lid (available at Home Depot for about $8 total) is the most secure option. This method keeps parts together and prevents damage in transit.
Beams or Transaxles - Use a pallet for larger, heavier assemblies. Secure the load with ratchet straps, bailing wire, or strong rope — just enough to keep everything firmly in place for freight pickup.
