The internal regulator modification is designed to power a 6 volt radio in a 12 volt electrical system.
The voltage regulator employs internal short circuit current limiting,
thermal shutdown and safe-area compensation, making it essentially indestructible.
NOTE:
Radios that have been previously connected to 12V with a resistor are not eligible for upgrade, due to the extensive damage.

Bluetooth makes a radio capable of wirelessly playing music from your mobile Phone or other devices with Bluetooth. Available for 12 V system. The AM antenna is not required for Bluetooth operation.
RADIOS NOT ACCEPTED FOR MODIFICATION:
Radios that have been used with a “VOLTAGE REDUCER” will not be accepted for modification. I received a Sapphire III that failed after the owner used a voltage reducing resistor designed for a heater fan. The heater fan resistor is a one ohm resistor, which is fine for a 6 amp heater fan, but not a radio draws 1.1 amp. Used with a 6 Volt radio at 1.1 amp the voltage at the radio is 10.9 Volts or 1.1 Volt lower than the system voltage. Even if the resistor is 6 ohms the voltage would very as the speaker current changed with the music, which means a resistor will not provide the correct voltage to the radio. Additionally current fluctuations occur when the temperature varies causing the output transistor leakage current to change.
