'71 AT 411 D-jetronic Pressure Sensor (MAP Sensor) Price: $150

While I work almost exclusively on Type 3s, I occasionally come across parts from other Types that have been installed incorrectly on Type 3s. This is one of them.
This is a Bosch D-jetronic pressure sensor for a '71 AT 411. I've taken it apart to inspect the diaphram and cleaned out the inside. The diaphram is good and the insides are exceptionally clean. The calibration has not been tampered with. This is an excellent replacement, or spare, if you have a '71 AT 411. Note that after all these years, this version of the D-jet pressure sensors is starting to fail, due to fatigue and subsequent cracking of the diaphram. This sensor has not been in use for many years, so it should have many years of service still left in it.

Bosch: 0 280 100 027
VW: 022 906 051 B
There is some confusion about what is the correct part for this car. The part I have is the correct part as listed in my Bosch literature from 6/74, shortly after these cars were made. By 1985, it appears that Bosch had superceeded this part with the 0 280 100 049, I assume to reduce inventory. The part I have here is a correct original, probably long out of availability from either Bosch or VW.
The cover may be in the wrong orientation for installation in your Type 4, but I can rotate it if you tell me how it gets installed in your car. The vent slots should point down, to minimize dirt collection against the diaphram.
