Single wheel ANTHONY trailer onewheel LOWEREDPRICE Price: $750
|
This is an old single wheel trailer from the 1940's-1950's. It is VERY COOL, way more rural/ farm looking than an Allstate, but needs some restoration. It has what looks like a small pickup box on the back with 4 stake pockets. And wood end gates. Lots of patina on the black paint.
No markings but for a TIMKEN tag. I believe it to be an ANTHONY brand, made in Illinois. It has an interesting double quarter elliptic leaf spring arrangement. It has cast front brackets with raisable parking supports, to sit it level when not attached to the vehicle. (I realize the existing support wheel parts look home made and they might be, but the brackets were cast to have supports.) The bumper brackets are missing. The actual arms were long ago welded and reinforced and looks like they are pretty strong now. It had a 1x4 tongue and groove wood floor that was rotten, so someone welded a heavy metal floor in it. This seems like a mistake to me as that floor makes it pretty heavy. I could certainly remove the floor for shipping. I could also possibly put on a wood floor if you wanted it closer to completed.
Shipping will be a problem. Probably too big to go Greyhound, it will have to be picked up or trucked or maybe in some months I might be able to deliver it. I'm in NE Iowa.
Note I also have a cute 2 wheel Allstate trailer, (probably a few years newer) listed in another ad.
