I have a fully tested and rebuilt Subarugears Reversed 5-speed Manual with a 4.86 ring and pinion that was performance heat treated to handle abuse, and Limited Slip Differential. Ready to bolt up to your VW!! 4.86 is the Factory Vanagon ratio for watercooled 1983-1991 2WD models in the USA and CANADA.
Has new bearings, seals, has been professionally modified for the Subarugears ring and pinion, has a sight glass for oil fill, 100mm VW output flanges and Subanose. (I have no other flanges and offer no discounts if you don't want them)

Complete Reversed Subaru 5-speed Conversion shifter assembly for VANAGONs are all available at additional cost to make in a fully bolt-in plug-n-play install.
I test all transmissions I build in a vehicle prior to selling unlike ALL other builders. While most think it isn't necessary or a waste of time, I don't. I want buyers to know the trans shifts and operates with no issues (noises, grinds, slop, etc) prior to their installation. This step gives peace of mind. Why spend thousands, install a part, and find out it isn't perfect? I certainly wouldn't. The transmission goes through all gears and has 50-100 miles put on it to test functionality. Video proof of shifting while driving included with purchase.
I rebuild engines and transmissions to offer more budget friendly options to the community.
I have very limited availability for installs due to winter projects. Unless you live in your vehicle full-time or are on my help list, wait time is currently at 3 months.
