1959 Semaphore Beetle. Matching no's. R HAND DRIVE Price: £7500

Early right hand drive semaphore model beetle for sale.
According to the VW AutoMuseum birth certificate the car was built on 12th November 1959 with a destination of British Aden as it was known from 1937 to 1963. It is the area around the port of Aden in the southern part of what is now known as Yemen.
The car was sold by the Arab Engineering Company in Aden on 22/01/1960 and i have the original stamper service booklet showing this.
A few years afterwards the car was returned to the UK. I'm assuming it was sold to a British service man or similar and returned to the UK when they did.
It seems to have given the car a good start being in that warm dry climate as it has survived considerably better than a regular UK car.
Its getting hard to find right hand drive semaphore cars now and this one is a great project.
Its a matching numbers car with original motor that runs and drives. It appears to have original fenders and it does have correct fluted headlights and correct tail lights too.
The original 30 hp motor starts and runs well and there's a receipt showing engine work including new barrels and pistons. It certainly sounds sweet when running and has very minimal end float so seems like a good motor.
I've only driven it around the yard here as its in need of some work prior to being back on the road but the gearbox seems good too.
The car was parked for a few years prior to me getting it so it will need some recommissioning work prior to heading out on the road.
The interior is all original. nice original headliner, original square weave carpet, original correct RHD floor mats, original upholstery seats and original two tone door cards.
Lovely original dashboard with accessory Dehne fuel gauge, Phillips radio and under dash shelf.
The car is UK registered and i have the V5 (registration document) in hand along with a thick lever arch file of paperwork and receipts including info on some restoration work it had done back around 2005/2006.
I have plenty of experience shipping cars and good contacts for shipping so theres no problem for me to assist with and / or organise worldwide shipping.
Delivery within the UK no problem too.
A cool old semaphore bug with great original interior and matching numbers. Lots of boxes ticked there.
