As I live in Mexico I have access to all the special Mexican Spec cars they made. If this one isn't for you I can find you one you will love.
Here we have a 1976 Mexican Spec Volkswagen Safari.
These were sold in Mexico from 1970 - 1980. They were known in the US as The Thing, but was only sold there only in the 1973 - 1974 model years.
Out back is a 1600 cc 4 cylinder engine mated to a 4 speed manual transmission.
This one is in decent condition but it is not a restored car. This is still being used to drive around.
The white paint looks good here but you should expect some imperfections.
The interior features black cloth front buckets. The rear seat matches the front. I know, the cloth isn't the most weather-proof material but that is why it has a hard top.
It has 5 lug wheels which allows you to change up the wheels to nicer ones, if you don't like what is on it. Honestly the current wheels do give it a nice look.
I will say the car needs a deep cleaning.
You should also plan on some deferred maintenance. I mean like an oil change and to replace a few wear items.
You have to ask yourself, do you want a perfect one of these where you are afraid to take it out incase it gets damaged, or do you want one like this where you can enjoy it and not worry so much?
The vehicle delivered to the Nogales border will be $13,450 dollars. This includes delivery to the Nogales Arizona border from Southern Mexico via professional transport.
