VW Bug balljoint front end beams stock or narrrow   Price: from $509 exchange
This is a rebuilt front end for VW Volkswagen standard Beetle 1966-1977 and Karmann Ghia (not Super Beetle). We prefer to use original OEM factory VW German beams over the cheaper lightweight Brazilian beams. The overall weight and construction of a German beam is vastly superior. We rebuild German beams to stock specifications or add weld in adjusters to raise or lower your car. Weld in adjuster allow 3 inches of adjustment, up or down. If you choose lowered spindles and an adjustable beam, we recommend you have the adjusters installed in the 50/50 position. Half way up and half way down. If you choose the standard adjustable lowered beam with dropped spindles, your car will be on the ground and have no adjustment up. Other options include standard drum or disc brake spindles or lowered and raised spindles for specific applications. We do have a raised 3 inch beam with 3 inch raised spindles for the baja and manx offroad cars. The raised spindle have a provision for speedo cable. If you are questioning whether your front ball joint spindles are early or late, there is an easy way to check. 1966 through mid-1968 VW Volkswagen Beetle original early spindles take early style tie rod ends with 17mm nuts. Most replacement ball joint disc brake and ball joint dropped spindles are made for late model tie rod ends with 19mm nuts. Late model spindles mid-1968 through 1977 are made with a larger diameter stub and use wheel bearings and grease seals with a larger inside diameter. There is no accommodation for backing plates when dropped spindle disc brakes are used. Front axle beams are sold exchange and there is a core charge of $300, which is refundable when you return your straight rebuildable core.
