Do only type 34's have the inner tire support bracket on the spare tire bowl? or do other models have it too? My '65 squareback does not have it. My type 34 does.

I think so. I've never seen one on either a Square or a Notch, but my T-34 did have one.

Anyone know when type 34 tail light bases got the rubber cap to protect the wiring on the light bulb. See top and bottom. My parts manual is dated 1972 and it only shows the base with the rubber cap.

I checked my parts books.

1961 - No cap
1963 - No cap
1969 - Cap

There's also no chassis breakdown for the tail light or cap. A T34 super nerd is gonna have to chime in here.

I was going to say the no cap is an early thing but have no idea about cut off date. I was happy to have early, cast, two piece rear lights that have caps. That way you can detach the chrome ring and put the restored ring onto a cast body, capped tail light.
