Unknown 1964 VW Buggy type

I have a 1964 Dune buggy that I am trying to figure out what make it is. Has anyone seen anything like this or know who the fiberglass kit came from? Obviously not a Myers. I have heard in the past that it might be a Timberline, but I haven't been able to verify that.

Some of the unique features of the car are the back tail lights and the gas cap and tank are under the hood with a flip up access panel. You can see it in the pictures. I don't know this for sure, but I think the back lights are from an old corvette model, but I haven't been able to verify that either.
