Just so we get it straight... Are you saying you have an example portion of existing original cargo floor and you are unable to measure it? _________________ aka: Evan

| no ive bought a repair section that is newly manafactured claiming to be of the correct profile but it doesnt match the existing floor that im trying to patch repair ,im wondering what the correct dimensions are just to clarify that my splitty cargo floor is of original spec so i can sort out the issue with supplier, the replacement section seems to be too shallow by at least 1.5mm. the orig seem to me around 7.5mm from top of corrugation to the underside of the next if i measure end on |

You need someone with a cut out OG section then if you are measuring that way. I can measure the depth of the corrugates but only from one side- they're part of their host buses. _________________

I understand you have some new floor you aren’t sure about.
But unless your rusty old floor has previously been repaired ... then rusted out again (seems unlikely)... I don’t understand why you can’t rely on the validity of the “floor to be patched” dimensions. Maybe you want to verify your existing old ass floor is original. Seems like you could determine that though.

you may have received bay window floor sections, the profile and spacing is off on that floor when compared to a split
I'm looking for someone willing to sell me some scraps of split window floor to patch m my single cab but having no luck |

Huh?, bay floors have the same profile in the corrugated part, I often rob sections to repair splits.
I wonder where the OP bought these repair sections?, some sellers are quick to say "correct profile" or some similar statement when in fact they are nothing near. got a camera Mike? : https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6 The sections you bought aren't reddish brown or black are they? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

| i just need the correct dimension of the original floor is all, just to verify what it should be , the replacement panel i have seem to be around 5.5mm in depth and when i measure my floor it varies a little as I'm taking measurement off pieces ive removed and the remaining original but appears to be around 7mm in depth. |

I'm lost on what floor repair sections I have then lol
The profile is *almost* right but the spacing is slightly wider and I blindly assumed it was bay window metal... maybe its vanagon stuff? I dunno.

ryan65 mines a 64 splitty from oz , just out of interest do u think you could take a measurment from yours from the top of one corrugation to the bottom of the next , thanx , original floor on left which comes in at 7mm replacement is around 5.5mm
the original floor is on the left on the first pic , u can see its quite a bit deeper

| to be fair ive rang the guy and he said if i send him a piece of floor that theyll make me a section , and claims he took the measurements from a 61 SC but the bit he sent is so far off i think it may be a dud, and i dont really want to cut out a decent section of floor , |

I've just measured an off-cut of original floor that I bought to make a repair patch from.
Each of the ridges is 7.4mm +/- 0.05mm
Are you the guy who asked the same question on the SSVC forum, or is that just a coincidence? If not, I'll remember to post this there too. _________________ Andy

Nah, that's too shallow.
I was surprised when I measured and it was only 7.4mm though. Looks deeper when it's in place. _________________ Andy
