Maybe this pic from a Nov 1962 Notch might help a little.
Love this thread! Thanks for all the good pics, they are very helpful!

If you need measurements from the bumper bracket bolts to other datum points, feel free to PM me. I have easy access to carry out such measurements. _________________ "Criticism comes easier than Craftsmanship"

It has been really quiet here. Not too much happened for a long time on this project.
Another '84 Mexican bug for my youngest son got in the way. But we are on the home stretch on that.
I am finally getting around to putting the front beam together on the notchback. Most parts are NOS except for the beam, the torsion bars and the upper seals which are reproductions. I made the mold and my friend Martin Kricke helped me make them with his equipment for heating the mold and pressing the material into the mold.
Sometimes you have to make things fit

So glad to see you back at it, I'll be following along! Not much has happened on mine either, but the body is now rolling around on a dolly since work on the garage meant that the car had to be moved! _________________ "Criticism comes easier than Craftsmanship"
