I'm not an airbag guy, so I don't have any real opinion on your setup. I did notice you are planning on marketing it to be somewhat universal for different VW's. I really like that for the most part you only really needed a modified tank.
I just have one suggestion, can you make the front setup fit under a 60 and earlier front clip? I don't think very many Oval window guys would mind spending the $$$, modifying or making a tank. I DO think very few of them would be willing to cut their sheet metal to fit it. My opinion is your biggest customer base would be for the early Beetles in general. They spend the most on everything and are fanatical about details. _________________ Check out my truck brought back from the dead... http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=420762&highlight=sprayed+blood
They're never really ever finished 58 rag build...

Even if it holds together, the stiffness of the swing plate is going to push the stress into other areas probably reaking havoc on other vital suspension parts. Dr porsche designed a bad ass suspension, I dont know why people toss it aside.
lowered cars ruin transaxles, everyone knows it frys bearings, also axle tubes, differential, axles all of that stuff gets torn up. Think about those stiff swing plates pulling on your axle tubes as they try to move up and down.
Cool car.though, just seems like it might be more fun in working condition |

first time test fit and layed out........ oh ya camber front and rear.

Am I the only one seeing the weak ass link in the swing plate?!?! That shit freaks me out, those are meant to flex and spring steel is easily fatigued by heat. Bad enougy when people notch them, but welded and notched geeze. I guess im old school, but I was digging the front. The back is.nuts. |

I like the idea of a link and king pin double a-arm from suspension. That is cool. _________________

That is amazing. You have some serious talent!!! Did you work up the designs yourself? I'd be interested in building something similar!!! |
