Well, the Van ran great! .......
Mostly......

When the A/C was on I had poor idling and a flat spot / hesitation getting moving.

Shut the A/C off and all was well.

I then remembered that my idle control system was acting up so I unplugged the control valve.

I think I need to sit down and figure out why my idle control is sometimes acting up and keeping a high idle speed about 2,000 + rpm.

My Van was last used in early June, last time I filled it was June 6th.

Happily it kicked right off with no hesitation what so ever.
I little bit of blue smoke from sitting but that burned off quickly.

I topped it off today with ethanol free gas.

Then we went to work moving some furniture.
I love how this box swallows up stuff with room to spare!

Well, some good news…… the temperature got well into the 80’s today so I turned on the A/C and out came wonderful cold air!

Last night was a freakish late cold snap.
No frost but darn close.
I went out early for a cold weather test drive with the rebuilt transmission.

I'm happy to report all went well!
My confidence continues to build that this home done rebuild might just last.

I've been working a lot on my 90 GL lately.
Rebuilt the transmission
Replaced the throttle body

These tasks evolved into trouble at times and I used existing as well as creating new threads trying to solve problems and find the answers to questions.

For my own convenience I've listed them here so I can find them again in the future if need be.

The questions involve several threads but I thought that each problem was unique although they were related and at times over lapped.
Sometimes a topic in a forum morphed into a whole new problem or solution path...... such as "How does the automatic transmission work?"

Today I pulled my accelerator linkage to check for, and repair, worn connections.

I also spent a fair amount of time figuring out how to
Finish off my camper transition inside.
Storage space is at a premium and I saw that Dave (Dobryan) had filled in the spot between the GL seat and the kitchen.
I decided to copy his lead and am designing a house battery/tool storage box.

Ever since you painted your roof white, I have been vacillating doing the same thing....

I've been battling some demons with my new GoWesty Throttle Body.

These demons involve the throttle plate range of motion, the kick down detent and closing the TPS at the proper time.
Also a very high idle speed

After I got the TPS adjusted for idle and I adjusted the idle speed I took a test drive.
What was of note is that with the idle fuel cut off operational I how have engine braking.
I don't think my TPS has ever told the ECU that my throttle is closed during the three years that I've been driving this Van.

The engine brake function is very noticeable, previously the fuel was always supplied at idle position.

Anyway, I stoped at Dunkin for a coffee..... the Van was looking smart in the lot.

On the plus side, I just filled up my gas tank and am quite pleased with the numbers.....

16.496 mpg.

This was a real mix of driving various roads and speeds.
